A Message from our Chair of Trustees...
Hi everyone
A really busy time at the Centre at the moment – last Thursday we hosted the Monthly Lunch Club where our guests sat down to a meal cooked entirely by volunteers – this month the star dish was a lovely chicken stew full of fresh vegetables and a tasty dish of Morrocan mushrooms served with couscous. Next month 10th of May – we have sweet potato and squash curry with rice or meatballs with pasta...... why not book in?
Of course the Cafe is open regularly anyway and people seem to be liking the new menu layout – as well as the old favourites of jacket potatoes, omelettes, salads and of course the Full English we have home made chilli (meat or vegetable) or shepherds pie – or perhaps you fancy a giant Yorkshire pud with sausages, mash and peas – and lashings of gravy of course. All for £4.00.
This Saturday coming Film Club is showing Paddington 2 – this is a funny film suitable for the whole family. No need to book - £2 per adult if you aren’t a member and with popcorn and a drink special offer for £1 it is a cheap afternoon out. Doors open at 2 pm and film starts at 2.30. Next month – 26th May – it will be Coco. A film that has only just come out of the Cinema and is another winner.
Preparations are well under way for our Royal Wedding Party on the 19th of May. Come along and watch the Royal Wedding live on the big screen and have an afternoon tea. Children can make a “Fascinator” to complete their outfits or perhaps decorate a top hat! There will also be a special mystery wedding present raffle. Tickets will be on sale soon. You need to book for this event – so we can make sure we have enough sandwiches, cakes and scones. The cost? £5 per adult and £2.50 for children.
Don’t miss our first ever Indoor Boot Fair on Sunday May 13th. Doors open at 10 am, 50 p entry and the Cafe will be open – Bacon roll and a hot drink for ONLY £2.00. Come along and grab a bargain!!
