Brilliant Boot Fairs!
For the past two months the East Malling Centre has hosted a monthly indoor Boot Fair. These sales have been very popular with local residents wanting to have a clear out, as well as small business owners. The sales were started to raise much needed funds for the Centre. Stalls cost just £5, buyers pay a 50p entrance fee, and the East Malling Centre have been hosting their own stall stocked with donations as well. So far the sales have raise over £200 for the Centre!
The Boot Sales are organised by Katie Smith, one of our Centre Administrators, with help from a group of local volunteers. The volunteers help set out tables, manage the car parking and take money on the door. As with most of our events, we couldn't manage with out their help, so a huge thank-you to everyone who has supported us so far!
As well as lots of lovely stalls, the café has been open serving hot drinks and bacon sandwiches to all of the visitors. Not only has this been very popular, but it has also helped to raise extra income for the Café. At just £2 for a cup of tea and a bacon roll, it has also been excellent value for money.
The next sale will be on Saturday 22nd July. The indoor tables are already full booked, but sellers are invited bring a table and turn up on the day if the weather is nice. The fee per pitch will be £5 per table.
